Several new tenants have leased space in PORTICO, a mixed-use development at 561 Fairhope Ave., in downtown Fairhope, according to Jeff Barnes of Stirling Properties, who represented the developer on the commercial transactions. The new tenants include Focus Creative Group, MedEmpower, Reach Kidney Care and Sure Med Compliance. The 12,000-square-foot space is 97 percent leased and the developer plans to add more commercial spaces and 32 residential units in the future on the 3.5 acre-site. The residences will feature courtyard homes and townhouses as well as residential flats to be located above the commercial space fronting Fairhope Avenue.
Homebuilder D.R. Horton paid $2.2 million for 45 lots in Amelia Lakes subdivision off Snow Road in Mobile, according to Vallas Realty. The lots will be in the fifth phase of the project and home prices will start in the high $200s.
Baumhower’s Wingfingers has leased the former Hardee’s building at 6321 Cottage Hill Road in Mobile and plan to renovate the restaurant and open next spring, according to Kenny Nichols of Vallas Realty, who represented the landlord. Tim Herrington of Herrington Realty worked for the restaurant. There is a Wingfingers location in Fairhope and this will be the first location in Mobile.
The Van Horn Group, which is now part of the Wurth Group, has leased a 10,850-square-foot warehouse at 3014 Mill St., in downtown Mobile, according to John D. Peebles and William Peebles of NAI Mobile, who represented the tenant. Matthew Gerrard of Milling Commercial Real Estate worked for the landlord. The Van Horn Group, an industrial distribution and supply company, is relocating from its Midtown Park location to the larger space.
A local investor paid $400,000 for almost an acre lot at 25556 Canal Road in Orange Beach just at the entrance to The Island Church, according to  Pratt Thomas of Merrill P. Thomas Co., who represented the seller. Ken Crabtree of Signature Properties worked for the buyer.
